Here are some things a few of our members had to say about our Church
“I first came to Freemantle URC because of the Dalek! I wanted to have a change in the Churches I work with and when I saw the picture of the Dalek…as a Doctor Who fan I wanted to know more.
I really like that Freemantle is a small Church where everybody gets the chance to join in and try things out.
Something that makes us different is that we’re a Church that has chosen to marry same-sex couples. I’m very proud that Freemantle URC offers equal marriage – it’s only fair!”
“I’ve had many ups and downs on my faith journey. I realised bits and pieces here and there, I had friends with a mixture of beliefs, I’ve been to Churches and Youth Groups and Christian Fesitvals and they were all great in their own way, but I never found somewhere or someone that I fitted with completely. When I came to Freemantle URC I felt welcome, I feel I belong as I am, and not as though I have to fit in. My beliefs and priorities sit alongside the role of this Church and I’m here to stay, and hopefully make a difference!”
A poem by one of our members:
Here are a few thoughts some of our members had about their personal faith and experiences
Talking about a book – God of Surprises – “I realised, no matter how I didn’t fit into any ‘faith box’ I’d found so far, God can still love me, whatever, whenever.”
